Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and tension caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other conditions as recommended by your doctor.
Atarax comes in pills to take in orally. The ordinary daily dose for adults is 50–100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50–100mg daily in parted doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg divided into couple of doses.
Atarax may cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
